Ok, Lyanna. I hope that's not your concept of offering resistance. Because if that's a "No! I'll NEVER let you abduct me!", it's the least convincing I've ever seen.
We still don't know what exactly happened with Rhaegar and Lyanna. For what we know, Rhaegar was an intelligent prince, who loved and respected his wife, princess Elia. It seems a little weird that he decides to throw it all out of the window and abduct the northern bird, Lyanna. But well, it could happen. But what about her? Did she care for Robert? Was she in love with Rhaegar? ¿Did she actually picture all the things that could happen if she did what she did?
Until Martin let us know, we can only speculate.
Again, this was just a brush experiment that turned out rather nice, so I decided to polish it a little. I dedicate it to my friend Elena [link] who is not only a Targaryen lover, but also a Rhaegar/Lyanna shipper. Besos guapa!

While he wanted to fulfill a prophecy, I don't think that's the reason why he left Elia and the kids for Lyanna. I think there was more going than we think and only George R.R. Martin can answer that question if there is a prequel series that will explain why Lyanna and Rhaegar left together and what really caused the war besides Lyanna being taken.
